How to Import from ORCID

ORCID provides a unique identifier for researchers. If you have an ORCID profile, you can import your publications, work history, and education directly into academically.me.

Step 1: Find Your ORCID ID

Your ORCID ID looks like 0000-0002-1234-5678. You can find it on your ORCID profile page. If you don't have one yet, you can register for free at orcid.org.

Step 2: Make Your ORCID Profile Public

For the import to work, make sure the sections you want to import (works, employment, education) are set to "Everyone" visibility in your ORCID privacy settings.

Step 3: Import in Your Dashboard

  1. Go to your dashboard
  2. Click "Import data" in the top right
  3. Enter your ORCID ID
  4. Review the imported data
  5. Confirm the import

What Gets Imported?

  • Publications — title, authors, journal/conference, year, and DOI
  • Work experience — position, institution, and dates
  • Education — degree, institution, field, and completion year
